At the Harlem Globetrotters game

Once again, we’re back at home base, after a very enjoyable weekend in Anaheim.

I found a great deal on airfare on US Airways into LAX.  It was only about $180 roundtrip for two.  Southwest couldn’t match it even with US Airways charging for bags.  Other than the flight attendants having to pimp the US Airways credit cards.  (They come down the aisle with information asking if anyone wants one.  That was pretty cheesy.)

We were able to stay again at the Candy Cane Inn, which is still one of the better hotels around the park.

Saturday was nice and rainy in Anaheim, but we knew that was going to happen, so we were fully prepared.  Of course, that meant the crowds at Disneyland were small.  Most of the rides were walk on’s.

We were able to see Michael Jackson’s old 3-d movie, Captain EO.  The last time I saw it was back in 1991, and I thought it was okay then.  Now, it’s just dumb.  I’m sorry, but it’s not very good.  The wife was totally unimpressed with it as well, and she’s never seen it.  Of course, it had crowds most of the weekend, so I guess we just don’t know style.

Sunday was a little more crowded, as the weather was great, but we made due.  One of the nice things about having an annual pass is that you don’t have to rush, but can just take it easy and not running from place to place.

It’s good to be home, and back to work.

So, it turns out that Valentine’s Day is that Sunday.  I guess that leaves out having flowers delivered at work.

In that case, we decided to celebrate last night.  After some great dinner at Pita Jungle, we had a couple’s massage at Dolce Spa.  It was actually my first massage, and it was great.  I think it might be our new Valentine’s Day tradition.

Since I found a great deal on airfare, we’re heading to Disneyland at the end of the month for a quick trip.  Should be a good time, and we’re hoping Captain EO will be open by that time.

You might also notice a new look to the blog; yeah, I got bored and decided to just change the format a little bit.

In case you didn’t hear, we had quite some wild weather here in the Valley of the (usually) Sun.

Here in the icedlatte.com homestead, it was fun.  Mostly a lot of wind and water.  Was worried about our tree in the front yard, but it turned out to be fine.
