Christmas, Christmas…

..good times.
We ended up having the wife’s family over Christmas Eve, then the excitement moved to my Grandmother’s house for Christmas evening and dinner. In the middle of the love sandwhich, we opened our presents early Christmas ‘morn.
Of course, the wife and I took vacation at the same time, so we’re both off until the 5th, and that’s nice. Lots of games being played, including Tetris on the Wii, and I also got the wife “Price is Right” for the Wii. It’s pretty fun, actually.

Vacation is always nice..

Today was the last day for the icedlatte.com household before vacation. We’re now both off until 1/5, and that’s cool. It’s nice being able to take vacation together, and just hang out.
First step? A barn ‘raisin’. Tomorrow we’re setting up the storage shed, and it shouldn’t be too bad. How bad can it be when the instructions say to use dish soap to be sure everything can fit together?
After that, it’s time to finish Christmas shopping, and get the house ready for guests on Christmas Eve, as the wife’s family is coming over here for dinner. Then Christmas we’re headed to my family’s house on the west side.
Good times.
December, December

Christmas is upon us. Then again, it seems like that’s been the case since Halloween, at last according to our local Target that had both stuff up at the same time.
The Christmas lights have been hung, the Christmas tree has been bought, and most of the presents purchased.
Busy weeks up until Christmas, of course. Friday was my company Christmas party, and it was at the F1 go-kart track by the airport. Good times. Until, of course, I took a turn too fast, and ran the kart into the barrier, and in the process, the kart went ‘under’ the barrier and got jammed up in the barrier. Causing me to scratch my finger and knuckle until it started bleeding a little bit on the track. Whoops. Oh well.
Then on Saturday, the inlaws came over, and we added onto our backyard patio. This took 53 bags of 80 pound cement, each of which I had to move in a wheelbarrow. Then helped move the cement around to finish the slab. Good times, but it looks pretty good:
Now we have to build our storage unit. Should be pretty easy.

What a good Thanksgiving…

..we had.
We ended up renting a car (Chrysler 300. Not impressed.) and driving to beautiful Aztec, NM.
The weather there? Nice and cold. It’s great to go to that environment every now and then, since we get to dig out the large coats. The highs while we were there were in the mid-30′s.
Thanksgiving was good and low key. The wife’s grandfather is 97, so the wife wanted to spend some time with him and the family, which was nice.
Finally, we did Black Friday. This time, though, we actually ended up buying something. Purchased a Blu-ray player, and a couple o’ movies. Then, of course, when we get home, I discover that our A/V receiver decided to die. Nice.
The drive was uneventful, but great Governor Janet put photo radar vans every 20 miles on I-40. Not impressed. We weren’t speeding, but I despise the photo radar. (See camerafraud.com.)
The usual this week. Work. Putting up Christmas lights. Sleep. Good times.
