So, we’re back from our vacation, and it’s back to work. That is always a suck, but what are you going to do?

I thought it would be good to have a travel blog about our trip. We did a lot of interesting and fun things, and I wanted to document it for posterity, and to get comments on what other people did, and maybe ideas for our next trip.

…and it’s good to be home.

The trip to Maui? amazing. San Francisco? Fun as always.

Of course, I have to go back to work on Monday, so I have a few days to decompress.

Look for a trip log (trilog?) and tons o’ pictures soon.

May.  The 5th month of the year.  We’re almost halfway through 2010, and that’s pretty cool.

It also means we’re just one month closer to June.

In June, we’re going to be celebrating our 10th wedding anniversary.

Crazy.

Out of my circle of close friends, we were the first to get married…and the first to make all the mistakes. (Brian Wilson, yeah, you were married first.)

All in all, though, it was a great day, and I hope everyone had lots o’ fun.  I knew I did.   Then my wife and I were off to… {wait for it, wait for it..} Walt Disney World.  For 7 days, and it was a great time.

So for our 10th, you might think we’re going to Disneyland Paris, or maybe even Tokyo Disneyland.  (Oh Jonathan Miller, that will have to wait, I guess.)

Yes, it’s Maui.  The HI.

We’ve booked the room, we’ve booked the airfare.  And as of today, that’s pretty much where it stops.

So, we’re looking for ideas of what to do on Maui.

If you have any ideas of things you’ve done on Maui, or heard your friend say, “If I were going to Maui for my 10th anniversary, I’d do…”, write it down in the comments on my website, or on facebook.com, and let me know.

…because it mostly is here in this household.

The wife is back to work, which means pretty much no long trips, since she can’t take time off easily.   That’s okay, as the fam needs to boost the savings anyway.  We are in a recession, after all.

Of course, I need almost a $1,000 (that number looks larger with a comma in it, doesn’t it?  $1000 vs $1,000.  It just looks bigger.) Due to my stupid poo-poo head, I missed signing up for the health savings account at work by 1 day.  (I forgot it’s the only thing that doesn’t auto-renew every year.  Whoops.)  I was counting on that to help pay for dentist stuff this year, and, of course, the dentist says I can’t wait until next year for this work.  I need to do it now.  So we’ve been cutting back as much as we can, and trying to save money.

But that doesn’t mean I can’t plan trips.

In June 2010, it will be our 10th wedding anniversary!  (I’m glad I got married in 2000 so I can always tell what anniversary it is!)

Are we going to Walt Disney World?  Disneyland? Nope.

It looks like we’re probably going to be going to Maui.

I’m sure I’ll be blogging about that more in the next year, so you’ll just have to wait.  I just wanted to give everyone enough warning so they can avoid my pasty, pasty body in the water in June, 2010.
