July is here already.. Well, tomorrow. But who’s counting.

I’ll be 30 on July 24th. Not saying that to try and get free stuff, (but if you’re listening, I’d like this.)

I’m okay with it, though. It just means I’m another year closer to retirement. (Which, yeah, is still 30 or so years off, but who’s counting that, either?)

As far as gaming goes, just a little bit of MM:3 on the Xbox, and some BF:1942. But other than that.

That is all… I’m back to drinking my latte.

MT:3 withdrawls.. {shiver shiver}

We’ve been housesitting for the last few days, (and will actually be doing for the next month), so that’s pretty cool. But I’ve not been playing video games…. that’s a hard thing not to do.

Okay. Arizona has been hot lately. REALLY hot. But at least AZ has a nice winter, right?

I’m also have coffee withdrawl. Haven’t had as much as I’d like. But that’s okay.

And DL withdrawls. We need to go again.

I’m ready for another vacation..

Yep, its the middle of the week, and I’m ready for another break. Man, you’d think that I live for being on vacation? Well, yeah.

Still playing Midtown Madness 3.. And still loving it. The online experience is much better than the single player stuff. But it’s also sometimes just fun to drive around and crash into stuff. Mindless entertainment, yes.

Hopefully we’re close to getting the Toyota fixed. It really sucks only having one car.

Nuthing new under the sun.

Nuthing new under the sun. Except, of course, another week of work upon us.

We cleaned house… Isn’t that exciting?

Games, games, good for the soul…

Yep, still playing Midtown Madness 3. Yes, I still love it. Yes, it’s still fun.

So here I am, at the office, and it’s 8pm at night. Not too bad, considering I haven’t had to go into the office before my vacation. It will be nice having two cars again. (See gas discussion, below.) But that’s okay.

I’ve been looking at satelite radio, but of course, we’re broke, so it will have to wait until after Summer, at the earliest. But it’s no biggie. Sounds like a cool idea, though. I’m leaning towards XM-Radio, but Sirius seems good too. (Any XM-Radio or Sirius people here: Will review for free equipment. :)

New games are fun.. New games keep life interesting..

So I picked up Midtown Madness 3 for the XBox today. Wow. The graphics, I think, aren’t as good as some other driving games, but the online play easily makes up for it. In a word, it’s fun. Especially one mission, where it’s the hunters VS. the hunted. One hunter starts out, and he must hunt down the other cars, which then turns into hunters. (The hunters are cop cars. Very nice touch.)

With the standard gameplay from Midtown Madness, it’s great.

So, now that I have that out of the way. What else is going on, you may ask? Not a whole lot.

It…just…keeps…getting..hotter..

Posted by Thomas on 17 Jun 2003 | Tagged as: General Ramblings

Man, oh man.. 106 degrees. That’s just hot.

Oh, you want to know more about the car? Well, it’s great. One thing I’m finding out, though, is that moving from a small, compact (4-cyninder) Neon to a big V8 Explorer - it loves gas. And by ‘love’, I mean CAN’T STOP EATING THE FUEL. That’s okay, though.

So it looks like I’m heading to Sacramento in July for training. Rough. I’ve never been there, so it will hopefully be a nice change, but the wife can’t make it with me, so that sucks. But I’m sure she’ll get by.

I really need to work on updating the pictures on this site. I haven’t done it in like forever. So watch for that soon, will you?

It’s not a punchline, but I now look like a 12-year old boy..

I was bored last night, and I’m getting old (30 in July. Jeesh!), so I shaved the goatee. (Well, it’s actually a vandyke, but hey, who’s counting.)

I now look like I should be in 8th grade.

Not that I mind, of course, I think that’s the look I was going for. But the Wife doesn’t like it much (maybe she doesn’t like dating 12 year old boys? Hopefully!) So the ‘look’ might not last. But that’s okay.

The weekend is over, it’s back to work time..

Yep, you heard me. It’s now Sunday evening, and the vacation is over.

I just wish I had more to say, but hey, guess I don’t. :)

Gotta love being broke…

We have arrived back in the beautiful (and very hot, I might add) Chandler sun.

Leaving San Diego yesterday afternoon (after playing around on the beach for awhile. Getting some of that mid-day sun), stopping in Yuma.

A little about Yuma.. Not much is in Yuma. Not much at all. If you’re forced to stop over in Yuma for a meal, though, I recommend Lute’s Casino, a tasty place and the prices good. They don’t take the card, though, so be sure to have some cash on you. Trying to find a BofA ATM in Yuma isn’t fun.

After staying in the beautiful Fairfield Inn in Yuma (let’s see… the air conditioner made an awful racket when you turned it on.. My reading light didn’t work in bed.. The mattress was paper thin, and we were right next to the swimming pool, which was loud.), we drove on to Chandler & home, and what a beautiful sight it was.

After returning the rental car, we pretty much just hung around the house, stopping to catch up on laundry & purchase a new pillow for Cassie, as we seemed to be one short from the trip. ( Happy Cassie = Happy Bates household).

So that was our Summer vacation. Monday we both go back to work, and return to the life’s that is.

Pictures coming soon. (Yes, really.)
