Ehhhh….

Err.. Still feeling a little ill, but I am getting my appetite back, at least. AND, had my first latte in over a week, so that’s always nice. I think I’ve been jones’ing for some caffeine, and that was giving my headaches. I feel old. :(
The video camera arrived back from FL today, and it’s all there and works fine. I’m very impressed about that, and I’ll probably write a letter thanking the employee that took care of it for us. That was really cool..

Also, the pictures are up for WDW 2004.. Click to take a look at them.

Peace out.

It’s good to be back…

Yep, we’re back. It’s great to be back definetely. The trip was fantastic. The plusses:

  • First class both ways on America West. Not too bad. Got a real meal, at least, and could recline our seats without having to sit in the persons lap behind us.
  • Mission: Space is amazing. I could see how it could get some people sick, but they did a fantastic job with it. One of the best rides ever.
  • Ditto with Rockin’ Rollercoaster. My wife and I didn’t have the courage to ride it the last couple of times at WDW, but this time I rode it with my sister-in-law and father-in-law, and it was fantastic.
  • Cruises have excellent food. Period.
  • Castaway Cay is super-cool. We spent the whole time on the adult beach, and we pretty much were away from any crowds. Of course, I did get a sunburn, but that’s a danger I was willing to take..

As far as the bad, there are definetely a few..

  • The day before the cruise, I had major stomach pains. Like I thought I was going to die. My wonderful wife called our insurance, and they recommended we get to an emergency room right away, as it could have been apendicitis. So after trying to find the closest hospital to our hotel that took our insurance, we truck over, and they run all the fun tests. Turns out it was probably a kidney stone. Fun stuff. Didn’t cut too much into our park time, at least, but annoying, none the less.
  • The morning we were supposed to leave for the airport back (off the cruise), I got pretty sick. Like throw up sick. So it wasn’t a fun day. I slept at the airport most of the time, using my laptop bag as a wonderful pillow. Ditto with the flight. Glad we got first class.
  • As were arriving at the airport, we realize we forgot the video camera on the boat. Whoopsie. After calling the lost and found on the boat, I really didn’t have much expectation that it would be recovered. They called us back a few hours later letting us know they found it, and they’re shipping it to us! Wow! I was really impressed with that, especially since it was our stupid mistake.

Would we do the cruise again? You bet. We’d probably do a longer one next time, though,… 3 days just isn’t enough.

Expect some pictures soon.

We’re off! {again!}

Yep, just making final preps to get ready to leave tomorrow for
beautiful (and I’m sure muggy) Orlando, Florida!

Are we excited? Yeah, I think you can safely make that
assumption. We’ve been planning this trip for over a year, so now
that it’s finally time, it just doesn’t seem real. Probably won’t
seem real until we’re on the first ride.

As far as updates to the website go: I think we’re going to skip
that this year. This time it’s just going to be about leaving in
the hear and now, and enjoying the time with our family. We’ll
make updates with what I’m sure will be many pictures, when we get
back. I might ’sneak’ away to do at least one update,
though. Depending on free time.

So everyone take care of yourself this week, and we’ll be seeing ya!

Sick, sick, sick..

Yeah, still sick. I think whatever I have has decided to move to larger accomodations in my chest, so now I’m starting to get a cough. Nasty. Probably call the Doc today to see about some medicine, or sumthin. But of course, it’s not going to stop our trip.

Arizona had it’s first offical monsoon for 2004 yesterday. Of course, we were stuck in a movie theater. In the middle, though, my wife and I turn to each other and say, “It smells like rain.” Yep, that’s life in Arizona, where the rain smells like wet dirt.

Some people don’t believe me that diamonds aren’t really worth much. They’re just inflating the prices, dudes. This is a pretty good article about the diamond cartels. A long read, but interesting.

Back to work.

I feel better, oh so better..

Thanks to the wonders of modern drugs (ie: Tylenol Cold, Daytime and Nighttime. Natch), I’m feeling much better. So much better, that I ventured out of the house today. That means that I got out of my comfy jammies (minus the feet. They should make adult ones of those), and went out to dinner. That doesn’t mean, though, that I shaved. Even though I really need to. But the weekend is at hand, and there is always plenty o’ time for stuff like that.

The weekend? Nothing major. We have to run some errands, a birthday party, and the standard hanging out with the in-laws.

Man to visit every Starbucks..

Posted by Thomas on 08 Jul 2004 | Tagged as: General Ramblings

This dude wants to visit every Starbucks . And with that, I wish him good luck. As it seems they build a new one every 10 minutes. He’s going to be busy for years.

Seems like I’m coming down with a cold. Slightly annoying. At least it’s this week, unstead of next week with the trip to Florida and all. So that’s cool. Just living on Tylenol Cold & NyQuil.

Yeah, yeah I know.

…it’s been awhile. One week, which in my terms, seems like a lifetime.

Back to work in beautifuly-hot Phoenix. After having low-80’s in Minneapolis, it’s a little tough, but I’m quite the trooper, so not a problem.

As far as work goes, I’m in the transition phase, which means I’m trying to get all my access required for the new stuff I’m going to be doing. It’s over 3 pages of stuff to get, so it’s not the fastest process, in any way. But I’m working through it.

What’s mostly taking up my mind, though, is our upcoming trip to Walt Disney World. (10 days, 15 hours.. but who’s counting?) It’s going to be super-cool, but you knew that already.

Yep, I’m back..

and it’s nice to be here.

Minneapolis was nice and all, but there is nothing like home. Your own bed, shower, & everything else just has a certain draw to it that’s really hard to explain (Oh yeah.. and don’t forget the wife!) I think the first night back from a trip in my own bed is the best sleep I ever have. It’s nice.

So now the last major trip, WDW, is 14 days away, and we’re syched. It’s gonna be super-cool.

As for the rest, happy July 4th, everyone! Stay safe, and be cool, stay in school.
