Hmmmm.

When life hands you a lemon, say, “Oh yeah, I like lemons. What else ya got?” - Henry Rollins

So, I’ve decided to make a change at my job. I’ve actually been thinking about it for awhile, and decided it was time for a change.

Not that I’ve found my job boring, per se, but I just thought it was time for a change. A new and exciting challenge, if you will.

Still working for the same company, but doing stuff with network intrusion throughout our network. A different side of the computer security arena than firewalls.

Today I told my manager that I’ll be leaving her team. That was pretty tough, because we’re already overworked, and this isn’t going to help the other people on the team. Then, of course, throughout the day I had those “Oh man, what did I just do? Did I make the right decision? Is this not good?” feelings. I think I’m beyond that, but I’ll probably wake up in the middle of the night with the cold shakes, or something.

My first day in my new team won’t be until 11/1, so I do have some time to square things away at least. Oh, and did I mention I also get a pay raise out of the deal? That’s not bad.

More news at 11.

At the Arizona Diamondbacks game right now. Got some kicking seats behind home plate.

A sad Day..

Well, not that sad.

Dodge has cancelled the Neon. As the first ‘new’ (well, it was slightly used) car I purchased myself, I have a soft spot for the little car. Yeah, it wasn’t the great car in the world, but it replace my 1983 Chevy Citation I inherited from my Mom. Now, man, that was one sexy car.

The Neon was nice, though. Air Conditioning, tinted windows, and a steering wheel! {sigh}

Blah…

Yeah, that kind of a week.

The issue of telecommuting has been at odds lately. On the one hand, I can understand a need for keeping it under control, but just right now is crappy timing, especially with the cost of gasoline. Enough on that. (And the hour and 45 minutes it took me to get to work today. Unfortunately, it was due to another death on a major road out of Queen Creek. Very sad.

At least cool temperatures are heading our way. Nice.

Another plug for The Independence High School Message Board. I’ve done some tweaking with the META tags, so hopefully we’ll get more people from Glendale, Arizona looking for it.

At the same time, I’d like to mention that TVMAX Cable still sucks.

Peace Out.

We’re back.

… And as always, it was fun.

Although I did end up catching a cold towards the end; never good. But we had dinner at the Vineyard Room at California Adventure. Now, we’re not huge wine people (but we’re always learning), but it was a very good meal. They match the wines to your courses, and it really did bring out the flavor of the food. It’s a little pricey (it was about $80 for each of us), but that does include the wine matching, and it’s a 3 course meal. Pretty good.

I added some pictures for your enjoyment. You can check them out here. A lot of California Adventure, for some reason. Oh well.

We also were able to check out a show featuring Asimo, the robot from Honda. They’re doing shows a few times a day at Disneyland with him. Pretty amazing, especially when he climbs up stairs. I’ll add a video I took of him later. (Even though it’s from my Treo 650, so it’s not the greatest quality.)
