I’m sure you all know how much we love our Tivo. We’re really enjoying our newest one, an 80-hour unit with built in DVD player/burner.

This link is to the new Beta version of the Tivo software. Soon you’ll be able to get Yahoo! weather, traffic, and photos. Plus Internet Radio and games.

Pretty Slick. Check it out.

We’re back…

Posted by Thomas on 28 Nov 2005 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

..and it wasn’t too bad.

Now, don’t get me wrong. When I retire, the first place I want to look for is a cabin next to a lake. With no Internet access, believe it or not. But in my current, hip, swinging (not that type of swinging) lifesyle, I find it slightly dull.

Aztec, New Mexico is an interesting town. Pretty small. But then again, the main reason we went was for Thanksgiving, which means only two things: turkey and family. And we accomplished both, in hearty portions, I assure you.

And of course, it was COLD. LIke, the temperature when we went out in the morning was 10 degrees. Yes, 10 degrees. Now, I know to some of you that’s a HIGH, but when you’ve just left Arizona temperatures of 80 degrees, it makes a little difference.

And of course, there is exactly 1 Starbucks in the next town over. Nuff ’said on that.

We rented a 2006 Chevy Uplander, though, and it did pretty well. Had built in DVD, and with us bringing the Nintendo Game Cube and Mario Party, the drive wasn’t really that bad.

here we are again.

Once again, the weekend was way too short. Mostly doing tasks around the house, but we did pick up We Love Katamari, the sequel to the infamous Katamari Damacy. Yes, it’s one of those weird Japanese games. It’s also one of the coolest:

Run over stuff with a big giant ball.

Yep.. That’s pretty much it. Even though it’s very weird, it’s very fun. And the new one added more multi-player goodness. They’ve just announced it for the PSP and DS, too.. On-the-go goodness is good…..

Thanksgiving. Well, it’s a road trip for the family this year. We’re packing up the Family Truckster and driving to beautiful Aztec, New Mexico. A few days with the inlaws parents. Should be good, and it will actually be an opportunity to use my jacket for once this year.

Decaffeinated coffee may be harmful to heart

I knew decaff sucked, but here’s proof:

Decaffeinated coffee may have a harmful effect on the heart by increasing the levels of a specific cholesterol in the blood, researchers say.

People who play video games exhibit traits similar to those of drug users

Posted by Thomas on 15 Nov 2005 | Tagged as: Digg Links

Okay.. This one is for some of my friends:

The same physiological responses that trigger a smoker’s craving may also be at work in the brains of people who spend a lot of time playing video games.

Monday’s are always the greatest…

Posted by Thomas on 14 Nov 2005 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

at sucking.

There.

I said it.

This weekend was mostly spent cleaning out the computer room, washing my car, and working on a friends computer that I’ve had sitting around for way too long. So it was good. Got some time in to have some Pei-Wei for someone’s birthday (Hey Miss!), and again, that’s good too.

But as always, Monday rolls around, and that means it’s time to head back to that great big place in the world called work. I mean, they’re nice enough to give me a paycheck every two weeks, I guess the least I could do is hang out 4-5 days a week there.

Bit the bullet the other day and ordered a new Tivo; specifically, a new 80-hour DVD capable model. This one is nice in that you can burn shows to a DVD for later viewing. Or say, if you’re going to be hitting the road, you can watch it on your laptop. Very nice. Got a good deal through Costco, so that’s always good too.

Also: If you’ve come here looking for the Independence High School Message Board, don’t forget that’s here at http://ihs.icedlatte.com/. Thanks!

More later this week!

Peace out.
