An enjoyable Christmas, Festivus, and Super Happy Fun Day 2005

It’s hard to believe they’re all over.
First, Christmas.
Since we have two sets of family here in A-Town, (That’s Arizona. Yeah. I made that up.) we usually go to one family for Christmas Eve, and the other family for the actual Christmas. Then the next year, switch. Rinse, repeat.
This year it was Christmas Eve at her family, and Christmas at mine. Good times, and applesauce.
What’d I get? Geez, you think I’m 12 or something?
Ehhh.. Some video games. A very nice Leatherman. (Nice to have in your laptop bag for all those CAT-5 cables you sometimes have to cut your way through, like you’re in the Amazon or something. Or maybe not.) A few gift cards and a very generous Starbucks card round it out. (Thanks, Don!) But, in general, it was good to be with family. Share some laughs, and hang. Oh. And have good food. Twice. Can’t forget that.
Super Happy Fun Day 2005. What can I say about an event that has had so much written about it in the past? From the run in with the paparazzi, to the stories of booze and booze and booze, to some pretty weird Golf N’ Stuff (I refuse to call it Castles N’ Coasters. You can kiss it.) minature golf holes.
The highlights?
- Breakfast at Jerry and Jen’s. Good rocket fuel for the day.
- Hearing Cary discuss eating Egg-Beaters. One conversation away from comparing what medications we’re on.
- Getting an afternoon Percent Venti Iced Latte in.
- Doing halfway well at bowling. Especially when my bowling form is akin to, well, I can’t think of something.
- Getting an early first round lead in Rock, Paper, Scissors, but not making it farther.
- Doing pretty well at poker. But then again, I think Jerry was going easy on us.
That’s all I can think of for right now, but again, it was a good time. Can’t you tell from this picture?

I was big pimpin’ in the marlin shirt, I tell ya.
Peace out for now….
