here’s another one. A Random Fact about Chuck Norris. Yes, that Chuck Norris from Walker, Texas Ranger.

A few of the random ones:

Great minds have purposes. Chuck Norris: Kill.

The chief export of Chuck Norris is pain.

Chuck Norris’ tears cure cancer. Too bad he has never cried.

Anyhoo, it’s quite funny, if you’re of a fan of the Chuck Norris.

Ahhh memories…

When I was a kid, one of the most exciting times leading up to Christmas, was, of course, the arrival of the Sears Wishbook Catalog.

We would dutifully look through it cover to cover, (obviously skipping the clothes, and pausing to laugh at the bra ads. Come on, we were kids. We knew no different.) carefully taking notes as to what we hoped “Santa” would bring us the following year. We probably knew the Sears Wishbook Catalog better than our school books.

Well, someone has actually taken the time to scan a few choice years of the Sears Wishbook. You can check it out here.

He currently has 1975 (love those fashions, as well as the cool “solid-state” digital watch for $150.00. By the way, that 1975 $150 dollar watch, adjusted for inflation, equals $526.65 in today’s money. That was one expensive watch.

He also has 1979 and 1983. All key years in the toy buying experience.

I suggest you take some time and browse, and maybe work on your Christmas list for next year.

Coffee Crisis in 2007.. Just like gas today..

So now the next thing to inflate the price of is going to be coffee.

“Coffee futures may spike next year because of a looming shortage of green coffee beans caused by growing consumer demand coupled with an off year in Brazil’s biennial crop cycle.”

Sounds good.

Another blast from the past…

I present, the complete Dragon’s Lair game movie.

This, being the first Laserdisc game, was pretty cool.. I still remember where I first saw it. The arcade at Westridge Mall in Phoenix, AZ. I also remember it being the first video game that cost 50 cents! Being 10, I rarely played it, since it was too costly.

I also added a new gallery of pictures from Williams Gateway Airport Open House 2006. Was pretty fun, and they let you walk around quite a few aircraft.

GRRRR….

So, the QC isn’t getting the first Starbucks in Pinal County.

Well, okay, that’s fine, I guess. But man, if I had a little dough, this is the place to open something, anything.

We have the highest 2 grossing Subway’s in the state. A new Pizza Hut opening required sheriff’s officers to direct traffic in the parking lot. Not to mention the Pizza Hut had to rent a freezer-semi for their supplies, because their walk-in freezer couldn’t hold enough to make the pizza’s.

AND THAT’S A STUPID PIZZA HUT!

If Starbucks were to franchise, which, of course, they don’t, I’m sure one here would do incredibly well. Of course, the wife is hoping for a Taco Bell.

Wow…

This is the exact time of the 1906 San Francisco Earthquake, and this is the 100th year anniversary.

Having lived in San Francisco, (well, okay, actually San Bruno, but close) and having ‘lived’ through a few earthquakes of the minor variety, I can’t image what that must have been like.

I remember in grade school we not only had a ‘fire alarm’, but we also had an ‘earthquake alarm’, and we were to huddle under out desks, facing inward. I’m not sure exactly what type of protection that would have provided, but oh well.

Oh, and our school didn’t have any windows. Yeah.. Glass damage, and what not.

SNL & TV Funhouse make fun of Disney..

Posted by Thomas on 16 Apr 2006 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

This is from last night’s Saturday Night Live, where they made fun of Disney’s ‘vault’, and making 200 sequels that aren’t as good as the original.. Quite funny!

Blue Hippo Scam Alert! The $2000+ low end desktop computer.

Posted by Thomas on 15 Apr 2006 | Tagged as: Uncategorized

You might have seen some commercials on TV about a happy, blue hippo that would love to give you a computer, no matter what your credit.

Surprise surprise, it’s quite a little scam.

The computer is worth about $300. They charge you $2200!

Oh, and they won’t ship the computer until you’ve spent more than $600!

If you’re that desperate for a computer, I know Wal*Mart has layaway. Seems like a better deal than this, even if you just layaway a $300 computer.
