We’re back.. good times..

Yes, we survived.

You can check out the damage from my pictures here in the Gallery.
Arriving into LAX, having dinner at a famous In-and-Out Burger, and of course, Disneyland. Good times were had, and we pretty much ate our way through the parks.

Not only that, but we had dinner once again at the Vineyard Room at California Adventure. My wife and I ate there before, and really enjoyed it.

We decided to eat there again. It’s one of the pricer places on property, but the food is excellent.

We actually opened the park and closed it on Saturday, so that was a long day. One of the highlights? Riding Space Mountain, where it’s currently updated with the Red Hot Chili Peppers’ “Higher Ground”, and special lighting. It was really cool.

All in all, good time was had by all. Dunno when we’re going again, but we do have to take my Mom, so, who knows?

Other than that, not a lot going on.  Sprinkler work is continuing, so that’s always fun.

A late update…

So yeah, I haven’t updated lately.  Whoopsie.

And, of course, this weekend, we’re making the trip to that great place.  Yeah, Disneyland.

So look for new pictures and updates after Sunday.

Woot.

Cold.. Cold…

If you don’t know, it’s been unbelievably cold here in Queen Creek, Arizona. As in, right now, as I write this, it’s 46 degrees.  It’s supposed to get down to 26 tonight.  That’s the coldest it’s been since 1990, they say.

That means we actually turned on the heater in the house.  It was that cold.  Oh well.

With that, the sprinkler work continues.  The Father-in-law came over this weekend, and gave me a hand with hooking into our water line.  It works great.  So that means we’re ready to go with installation of the actual sprinkler pipe and sprinkler heads.  Still a lot o’ work.

Look for more pictures soon, I have to download them off the camera.

Yes. This is just a test.

Things are afoot in Queen Creek…

As some of you might or might not know, we haven’t done much with the backyard yet.  It’s pretty much been a dirt pit, with the occasional weed growing. (Well, a few weeds.  But that’s neither here nor there.)

Last year we just lost track of time in planning it, and by the time we were on the ball, it was Summer.  You don’t do projects like this in Summer.  Well, you can, but you’d be dumb.

This year we decided we really needed to start on it, as the wife really wanted to have grass and a garden.  And when you’re married, if your wife isn’t happy, you aren’t happy.  So started we have.

Here’s what it looked like before we started:

2641

(This was actually right before we moved in, where you can see the crab grass as it was alive.)

That required that we first get the yard ready for sprinklers.  Which also required more work.  Since it was mostly crab grass, which is a pain, we had to whack it down after killing most of it.  Then the spreading of the manure, which, smells great.  Then, the tilling of the ground, to get the good dirt up and make it easier to dig the trenches for the sprinkler.

Fun times.  We’ve pretty much got the ground ready to go, and I have some plans for the sprinker system in my head.  Just need to put it down on paper, and away we go.

During this fun time, I’ve setup a gallery that you can see our progress.   If you click each individual picture, I’ve added comments about what it is, exactly, we’re doing.

It’s definitely been a learning experience.

Already 2007.  Wowsers.

So, how was 2006?  Well, of course, you can actually take a look at my archives and see for yourself how 2006 was.   I personally, though, really can’t complain.

First off, it was Christmas.  As far as that went, it was good times.  We spent Christmas Eve with my in-laws.  Received more coffee, and a very fun Nintendo Wii game, Rayman Raving Rabbids.  A very enjoyable multiplayer game.

Then the next morning, we opened our presents.  My wife surprised me with an Xbox 360, which, I have to admit, is quite enjoyable.  We’ve been playing quite a bit of online Uno.  Yes, you get a high powered game system, and end up playing a card game on it.

I got the wife a Cricut printer.  If you’re into scrapbooking, it’s da’ bomb, or whatever the hip Scrapbooker’s are saying these days.

That evening, then, we went over to my family’s Christmas, which was good too.  More coffee was received by me, which, again, I love.  Good stuff.

Then, of course, the next day, was Super Happy Fun Day 2006.   A day of fun was had by all, and once again, we saw more of Jerry that anyone ever needed to see, on any day.  Pictures and more information will be posted to the official SHFD website soon.  Look for it in theaters in early Summer.

Other than that..  Well, it’s back to work for me tomorrow, so that’s always fun.  The wife has some more time off, though, and doesn’t have to go back until next week.  Lucky her.
