Just stuff

So, it’s now Sunday, and it’s the last week in February.

What does that mean?

Well, it means that the weather here in beautiful AZ is going to get warm soon.  And now they’re saying that our Summer is going to be hotter than ever.  Nice.  So, that means more running to the car and opening the windows for 20 minutes to let the hot, hot air out.  More driving with 2 fingers, because the steering wheel is hot, and parking 4 miles out because you found a spot with shade.

Check out Reno 911!: Miami the other day, and it wasn’t too bad.  Basically just a longer version of the show.  So if you’ve see that, you know what to expect, at least.

Roll That Beautiful Plastaline Footage…

So the wife and I traveled to the Arizona Science Center today to see “Body Worlds 3“, an exhibit of human anatomy using bodies preserved using the Plastination method.

It was really pretty amazing, though.  We were kind of worried about feeling ill from seeing all real people that have been preserved, but neither of us really had any issues.  And as far as as the exhibit goes, it was amazing.  They did a very good job of showing how amazing our bodies really are.  Especially amazing was the growth of a child in the womb.

If you have the time, it’s something I think everyone should check out.  It was well worth the money.

Yes, Valentine’s Day. It’s now over.

Did I remember it? Well, of course I did. What did we do? Well, I cooked a tasty little meal for the wife. Got her some nice jewelry, which always makes her happy.

What’d she get me? Well, she picked up Warioware:Smooth Moves for the Nintendo Wii for me. So far, I’m not too far into it, but it’s very fun. I finished the Gameboy DS version of it a few years ago, and had the GameCube version almost completely done. This one, of course, makes good use of the Wii controller to kick it up to knotches unknown. I guess there is also a multiplayer version inside of it, but first you have to unlock it by playing the single player version. Not super-happy with that, but hey, what are you going to do?

I have Monday off, which, of course, will be really nice. Hopefully going to work on the yard more this weekend. That is, of course, if the weather holds up. It’s supposed to rain this weekend, again.

It is the Weekend…

and here I sit at Starbucks, enjoying a nice iced venti 2% latte. Gotta love that.

So I finally got around to updating my web site software, Wordpress, to the latest and greatest version. Probably nothing you’ll notice, but if you see any issues, let me know.

Sprinkler’s are coming along nicely. I actually was able to get the front yard ‘zone’, which was just on it’s own timer, added into the wiring for our backyard sprinkler’s. Which means now it will all be in one, with the time in the garage, so if it’s raining, it’s no biggie to shut it off. I’m good. Well, we’ll see.

Other than that, not a lot going on. The weather here in Queen Creek, AZ is nice. It has been a nice 80 degrees the last week, which means we’re basically back to shorts weather. What more could you want?

Well, well, well…

Sprinklers.  Need I say more.

So after testing some of my PVC gluing skills, I had a couple of leaks. I think that mostly could be attributed to the fact that I didn’t really wait for the glue to dry before pressure-testing.  I was probably a little too over-anxious.  So it had a slight drip from one of the pipes.

So basically I had to cut the PVC and start over again.  This time, though, I pre-glued a large portion of the valves, let it set overnight, then glued that onto the water-supply pipe.

Testing today, and it worked! Happy days.  So that means we’re now clear to start laying the pipe and the actual sprinkler heads.

What else?  Well, our Canon I850 printer, which we’ve had for over 5 years, finally decided to die.  When you try and turn it on, it doesn’t power up.   So this time, I ordered a Brother HL2070N laser printer.  Not too bad for $140.  One of the nice things is that it has a network port, so we do not need to hook it up to the Mac.  Can print with everything off.

Not much else right now.  Peace out.
